Man dead, woman seriously injured in Farmington head-on collision

FARMINGTON, MO (ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY) – A 39-year-old man was killed and a 71-year-old woman was airlifted to the hospital following a crash Saturday afternoon in St. Francois County.

According to a crash report published by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 4:45 p.m. on Route OO, near Coffman Road.

A southbound 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by 71-year-old Sandra R. Gallaher, crossed over the center line and into the northbound lane of oncoming traffic, striking a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu head-on.

The driver of the Malibu, Farmington man Randal J. Harris, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:06 p.m.

Gallaher, also of Farmington, was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts when the accident occurred.

The Chevrolet and the Hyundai were both totaled in the collision.
