Man charged for fatal wrong-way crash at I-44 and Walnut St

ST. LOUIS, MO – According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a man has been charged for the fatal wrong-way crash at I-44 and Walnut St in April.

Prosecutors say that Curtis R. Lee was driving a Ford Transit on April 9 when he collided with a Toyota Camry head-on at around 5 a.m. Police say Lee was going the wrong way on I-44 for several minutes before the crash.

First responders pronounced the driver of the Camry, Audrey Spencer, 66, dead at the scene of the accident.

Lee’s blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit at the time of the collision.
