Macon driver sustains serious injuries in Missouri 3 crash

MACON COUNTY, MO – A 37-year-old Macon driver sustained serious injuries in a crash on southbound Missouri 3 on Thursday night.

Chrystal L. Mathis was traveling south on Missouri 3 in a 2009 Pontiac G5 when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, police report. The Pontiac hit the ground and overturned 3 miles northeast of Elmer around 6 p.m.

Mathis was ejected from the Pontiac. She was not wearing a seat belt. Police report she was airlifted to University Hospital.

The Pontiac was totaled.
