Kirksville woman sustains injuries in westbound I-64 accident

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO – A 49-year-old Kirksville woman was injured in an accident on westbound I-64 on Sunday night.

Police report Randal K. La Motte, 62, was traveling west on I-64 in a 2003 Ford Explorer when he failed to notice a 2018 Toyota Tundra. The front of the Ford hit the towed unit of the Toyota, driven by 46-year-old Richard D. Ginther. Police report the accident happened just east of Lake St. Louis Boulevard around 7:10 p.m. The Toyota traveled off the right side of the road and hit a guardrail.

A passenger in the Toyota, Chassedy Wilson, was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis for minor injuries.

Wilson, La Motte, and Ginther were all wearing seat belts.

The Toyota sustained extensive damages and the Ford sustained moderate damages.
