Jeep Renegade driver runs stop sign, crashes into Ford Focus

VILLA RIDGE, MO – A 44-year-old Sullivan driver ran a stop sign at the intersection of Highway M and St. Louis Rock Road and hit a 2011 Ford Focus on Thursday morning.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lisa D. Wright was traveling east on St. Louis Rock Road in a 2005 Jeep Renegade and failed to stop at a stop sign. Her Jeep struck the left side of the Ford traveling north on Highway M.

Scott A. Kessels, 49, the Ford driver, was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington for moderate injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

Wright was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for serious injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles were totaled.
