Investigating Pediatrician for Drug for Sex Scandal

Under the Guise of Medical Treatment

OnderLaw is investigating allegations that Pediatrician Dr. Craig Spiegel traded drugs for sex and money.  Spiegel, an affiliate of SSM Health DePaul Hospital and a former Voluntary Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Washington University, has been accused of trading drug prescriptions and money for sexual acts.

According to court filings, Spiegel has also been accused of sexual abuse by patients. One has alleged Spiegel forced her to perform oral sex on him in a public bathroom and another, a minor, has said Spiegel was “inappropriate” with her during a medical exam.

Federal prosecutors have thousands of corroborating text messages, including instances where Spiegel texted “You owe me big time” to one woman, as well as threats to another woman, stating that he had sent her prescriptions “assuming [she] would hold up [her] end.”

“The conduct alleged in the indictment represents an exploitation of patients who were vulnerable because they had been treated by Dr. Spiegel since they were girls, because they were struggling with an addiction, or both, to satisfy a sexual desire,” said U.S. Attorney Sayler A. Fleming. “It is illegal and unethical for a doctor to prescribe controlled substances as payment for sexual favors or for cash”

Spiegel’s betrayal of his patients’ trust is a breach of the highest order. OnderLaw has dedicated itself to fighting this betrayal.
