Hit-and-run collision on I-70 kills 1

ST. LOUIS, MO – A hit-and-run collision killed a man last Thursday evening, reports KSDK.

The incident occurred on the section of I-70 near Branch St in Hyde Park. Police were called to the scene around 11:17 p.m.

According to investigators, a Chevrolet Cruze driven by Rayell Jones, 30, was stopped in the slow lane when a Chevrolet Silverado slammed into the back of it.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Silverado fled the scene but was apprehended by police at a later time. After the suspect was arrested, he was hospitalized because he was involved in an accident. The suspect’s current condition is not known at this time.

The reconstruction unit of the police department is investigating the case.
