Herobility’s Eco baby spoons included in their baby spoon and fork sets, feeding spoons, and four-piece placemat feeding sets have been recalled after it was discovered the utensils can break into pieces small enough to cause little ones to choke.
Though no injuries have been reported, the company is advising that use of the recalled spoons and sets be immediately discontinued. The company is offering a full refund or a gift card to be used for future purchases that includes free shipping.
About 890 sets have been sold in the United States through the company’s website and at Dillard’s, Buy Buy Baby, The Mama ‘Hood, traveling Tikes, Kidsland, Adolce Baby, Earth Baby, Mum and Mini, Babylist, Global Enfant, Mariposa Hill, Li’l Baby Sprouts, and Macy’s stores between March 2019 and September 2020.
Eco Baby Spoon & Fork sets sold for about $9 each; three-packs of Eco Feeding Spoons sold for about $10; and four-piece Eco Placemat Feeding Sets sold for about $50.
The spoons and their sets are made from plastic. They differ from other Herobility utensils because they do not contain steel.
Recalled sets are stamped with the Herobility name on the underside. Some are also stamped with a date, though some sets without dates are involved in the recall.
Herobility is a Swedish company. Recalled spoon sets are manufactured in China.
