Four injured in multi-vehicle pileup in St. Charles

ST. CHARLES, MO – Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident that began when an SUV pulled into traffic in front of a police vehicle, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Officials say a police-operated 2016 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on Mexico Road when a 2019 Nissan Murano pulled into traffic and was hit on the front passenger side. The force of impact caused the Nissan to hit a 2016 Kia Soul, which in turn crashed into a 2018 Ram 1500.

Both the Ford patrol car and Nissan were totaled in the accident. The Kia and Ram were also extensively damaged.

The drivers of all four vehicles were injured in the accident, and were transported by St. Charles County EMS to a nearby hospital.
