Fatal accident on Page Avenue after driver runs red light

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO –  One man is dead and three others are seriously injured after a driver sped down the interstate and ran a red light early Tuesday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

The incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. on Page Avenue and I-170, when a 2019 Nissan Altima sped through a red signal as a 2020 Toyota Camry entered Page Avenue. The Nissan hit the front driver’s side of the Camry.

The driver of the Camry, 24-year-old Marcus Slaughter, was pronounced him dead at the scene. Two other passengers in the vehicle were injured and taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.

The Nissan’s driver, 25-year-old Julius Jackson, was moderately injured and transported to SSM Health DePaul Hospital.
