Elderly Fenton man and woman injured in Festus crash

FESTUS, MO (JEFFERSON COUNTY) – Two elderly people were injured this afternoon in a car accident in Jefferson County, according to a crash report published by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 12:50 p.m. at the intersection of Route TT and Jefferson School Road in Festus.

A 2012 Buick Lacrosse driven by 81-year-old Eugene R. Glandt, of Fenton, made a left turn onto Route TT and into the pathway of a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. The Chrysler, driven by 37-year-old Rachel E. Lewis, of Festus. struck the side of the Buick, resulting in the injury of Glandt and his 80-year-old passenger, Kay M. Kempf, also of Fenton.

Both occupants of the Buick were taken to the hospital for the treatment of moderate injuries.

Lewis is not reported as injured. Lewis, Kempf, and Glandt were wearing their seatbelts when the accident occurred.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged in the accident.
