Elderly driver injured in single-vehicle crash in Villa Ridge

VILLA RIDGE, MO – An elderly motorist was injured yesterday afternoon in a dramatic single-vehicle collision on Highway 100 in Franklin County.

According to the official MSHP report of the incident, 74-year-old Mickey Waters had been driving east shortly before 2:40 p.m., when he lost control of his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado near Elizabeth Ann Lane. The Chevy veered into the median, went airborne, and landed in the westbound lanes before traveling off the roadway again and slamming into a rocky bluff.

Waters, who was not wearing his seatbelt at the time, suffered only minor injuries in the crash, and was taken to Mercy Hospital Washington for treatment.
