ST. CHARLES CO., MO – An elderly driver was injured this morning when a semi truck collided with her vehicle while attempting to change lanes, according to a report filed by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at milepost 207 of westbound I-70 at about 9:05 a.m. on May 6. The driver of a 2020 Freightliner traveling in the far left lane attempted to merge into the lane to his right, where he collided with a 2014 Ford Focus driven by Clara Hoeckelmann.
Hoeckelmann, a 78-year-old resident of O’Fallon, was taken by ambulance to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis with minor injuries.
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
