JEFFERSON CO., MO – The driver of a dump truck was injured this morning when he crashed his vehicle while attempting to avoid a deer in the roadway, per an official MSHP accident report.
Mark Ryker, 54, was negotiating a curve on northbound Route U when he saw a deer in the road near Lake Ridge Lane. Ryker swerved to avoid the animal and lost control of his vehicle. The truck entered the southbound lanes and overturned.
Emergency responders with the Marthasville Ambulance District transported Ryker to Mercy Hospital Washington, where he was treated for minor injuries.
