Driver taken to hospital following crash on I-44

ST. LOUIS, MO –  A man was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash on I-44 near mile marker 269 Tuesday, according to MSHP.

Charles L Scarbough, 76, was on eastbound I-44 when he rear-ended a VW Atlas operated by Catherine M Dcosta, 42. Scarbough then entered another lane and struck the side of a Ford F-150 driven by Roger B Weaver, 28. The impact sent Scarbough through the median barrier and off the road.

First responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident around 10:15 a.m. They transported Scarbough to Mercy St. Louis Hospital.

The other two drivers were uninjured.
