Driver seriously injured after swerving in and out of highway lanes and crashing

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO –  A motorist was seriously injured when he overturned his vehicle on Route MM Tuesday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

At 11:20 p.m. Herbert Carpenter was headed west at Buckeye Valley Road in a 2006 Ford F-150 when he started to veer off the right side of the road. The 31-year-old corrected, but then crossed the center line and drove off the left side of the road.

The truck flipped over and came to a stop at an embankment.

Carpenter was transported to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

It is known was caused Carpenter to begin steering his vehicle in and out of the road.
