DESOTO, MO – On Monday morning, a man sustained moderate injuries after he drove off the road, hit a mailbox, and then crashed into a ditch.
At around 8:04 a.m. on June 1, Michael Allen, 69, drove his 2007 Ford Edge off the road. Allen was driving around a curve on Charter Church Road near Route T when he lost control of the vehicle. The Ford struck a nearby mailbox before crashing into a ditch by the side of the road.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that Michael Allen sustained moderate injuries during the accident. An ambulance transported Allen to Mercy Hospital in Jefferson for treatment of his injuries.
Allen’s vehicle sustained significant damage during the accident. Officers called a tow truck to remove the car from the scene.
Police officers do not believe any other drivers were involved in the crash.
