MANCHESTER, MO – Two people were injured after a driver allegedly ran over another man following a road rage incident in Manchester on Thursday afternoon, according to information from KSDK.

The incident happened on Manchester Road near Parkway South High School at about 3:30 p.m., when a man allegedly cut another driver off. The two drivers then pulled into the parking lot of the high school.

73-year-old Michael Gallagher, operating a silver Nissan Altima, then allegedly threatened to run over the victim, a 72-year-old man, with his vehicle. He then stole a cell phone from the wife of the victim, causing her wrist to be injured in the process.

The victim sustained multiple severe injuries, including a broken pelvis and broken ribs. He is expected to survive his wounds.

According to police, bystanders at the scene were able to prevent Gallagher from running over the victim a second time.

About a mile from the scene, Gallagher was discovered with the stolen phone and then taken into police custody. He is facing a charge of first-degree felony assault and armed criminal action in connection with the crash. Gallagher is being held without bond at the St. Louis County Jail.
