Driver rear-ends vehicle, injures 2 near Doe Run

ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO – A juvenile and an adult were injured in a two-vehicle collision at MO 221 and Buck Mt Rd Tuesday, according to MSHP.

At 3:17 p.m., a 16-year-old male driving a Toyota Corolla attempted to pass a Pontiac G6 driven by Breanna Elser, 29, in a no-passing zone as Elser was trying to make a left turn. The juvenile struck the back of Elser’s vehicle, which sent it offroad and into a utility pole.

Elser and a passenger, a 7-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries and were driven by private conveyance to a local hospital.

The juvenile driver was not hurt in the incident.
