Driver injured in single-vehicle crash in Wentzville

WENTZVILLE, MO – A driver was seriously injured Sunday morning when he lost control of his vehicle, which overturned and landed on its roof.

According to the official report taken by the Missouri Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on northbound Highway 61 near Silvercote Drive at about 10:20 a.m. 61-year-old Dennis Holmes was driving too fast for conditions and lost control of his 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, which skidded into an embankment, went airborne, and landed on its roof.

Holmes was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with serious injuries. His current condition is unknown.
