Driver hit concrete median after falling asleep behind the wheel

ST. CHARLES, MO – A 49-year-old male driver fell asleep driving and crashed on eastbound I-70 early Monday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred just east of 5th Street on eastbound I-70 around 5:10 a.m.
It was reported a 2006 BMW X5 driven by Shawn Lenox crashed into a construction barrels and a concrete median after he fell asleep while driving. He was transported to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for minor injuries.
