Driver shoots motorist after hitting car in downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO – The driver of a white Dodge Charger fired shots at the occupants of a vehicle he crashed into near downtown St. Louis early Saturday morning, FOX 2 reports.

Police say the incident occurred at the I-55/I-44 split at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, and that the driver of the Charger made no effort to  stop following the collision. The victims pursued the Charger in an effort to “have it stop.” The Charger’s driver responded by pulling alongside the other vehicle and opening fire, hitting the driver in both legs.

EMS transported the driver and a passenger to a local hospital. The driver is listed in stable condition, and the passenger does not appear to have been injured.

The driver of the Charger has not been identified. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
