Driver arrested after DWI crash kills one in Newton County

NEWTON COUNTY, MO – Authorities have one individual in custody in connection to a fatal collision near Joplin Tuesday evening.

According to KSN, the crash occurred within the 3500 block of Reinmiller Road at about 5:20 p.m. Officials discovered two victims at the scene, 33-year-old Tory key and 30-year-old Jose Gonzalez. Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene while Key was transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Following his release from the hospital, Key was arrested on several charges including felony DWI resulting in the death of another, driving without a license, and careless driving.
