STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO – Two people were injured after the driver of a 2017 Kia Sorento lost control of the vehicle on I-55 and got in multiple collisions, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
The accident occurred Monday at 4:47 p.m. at the 163.6-mile marker when 43-year-old Jaso Carver drove off the left side of the road, hit the cable barriers and then corrected back to the road. Once corrected, Carver then drove off the right side of the road, hit an embankment and then hit a tree.
A female inside of the vehicle, as well as Carver, suffered moderate injuries. Both parties were transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson to treat injuries.
