Dittmer man airlifted to St. Louis after rollover crash in Franklin Co.

LONEDELL, MO (FRANKLIN COUNTY) – A man from Dittmer was seriously hurt Sunday morning following a rollover accident in Franklin County.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 9 a.m. on Old Mount Hope Road, near Route FF.

The victim, 30-year-old Dustin A. Shelton, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Captiva when he failed to properly round a turn in the roadway. The Captiva drove off the side of the road and collided with an embankment before rolling over.

Shelton was airlifted to the hospital in St. Louis with serious injuries. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The Captiva was totaled in the crash.
