DeSoto driver swerves to miss deer, hits tree in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO – A 56-year-old DeSoto driver swerved to miss a deer on Papin Road and crashed into a tree on Tuesday morning.

Brandi R. Christensen was traveling east on Papin Road in a 2015 Chevrolet Impala when she swerved to miss a deer, Missouri State Highway Patrol reports. This move caused the vehicle to travel off the road and hit a tree south of Mt. Olive Road around 8:27 a.m.

Christensen was transported to Mercy Hospital South for moderate injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

The Chevrolet sustained extensive damages.
