Crawford County UTV crash kills one person, one person injured

CRAWFORD COUNTY, MO – One person was killed and another seriously injured in a UTV crash on Center Point Road on Saturday night.

Richard A. Livesay, 57, was traveling east on Center Point Road in a 2018 Kawasaki Teryx, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. He ran off the south side of the road and crashed into a tree. The accident happened about four miles east of Steelville around 7:05 p.m.

Both Livesay and a 56-year-old male passenger were airlifted to Mercy Creve Coeur. The passenger, James A. Smith, was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:51 p.m. Livesay’s current condition is unknown.

Neither Livesay nor Smith were wearing safety belts.

The UTV was totaled.
