Crash injures driver on Hwy D

PHELPS COUNTY, MO – A man was airlifted to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Hwy D, KRCG reports.

James Barnhardt, 67, was driving a Sterling L9500 on eastbound Hwy D when he strayed off the road, struck a traffic sign, and reentered the roadway. He then went off the other side of the road and collided with a tree, which flipped his vehicle and ejected him in the process.

First responders airlifted Barnhardt to Mercy Hospital.

It is unclear exactly where on Hwy D the crash happened.
