Collision shuts down three lanes on I-270 NB in southwest St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO — A vehicle accident late Friday morning closed three left lanes and caused a traffic jam on Interstate 270 northbound in southwest St. Louis, according to MoDOT STL Traffic.

The incident impacted the northbound lanes of I-270 past the Interstate 55 merge near Mehlville and was first reported at 11:24 a.m.

MoDOT projected the crash would clear at 12:16 p.m.

Shortly before 12:00 noon, motorists were warned of standstill traffic as a result of the accident.

The scene was later reported to have cleared early at 12:04 p.m.

No further details have been shared on the circumstances around the incident.
