Collision closes multiple lanes on I-64 WB in downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO — A vehicle collision Wednesday morning closed up to five lanes on Interstate 64 westbound in downtown St. Louis, according to MoDOT STL Traffic.

The accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-64 east of Market Street and was first reported at 8:37 a.m.

MoDOT initially reported three left lanes closed, but later closed two additional right lanes, suggesting a significant crash and response effort.

The scene was originally expected to clear at 9:23 a.m. but was later postponed to 9:53 a.m., then 10:08 a.m.

No further updates or details have been reported on the number of vehicles involved or any injuries sustained.
