Collision closes lane on I-44

ST. LOUIS, MO – Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol shut down one lane along I-44 following an accident early Wednesday afternoon.

According to the official Twitter page of the Missouri Department of Transportation, the accident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. within the westbound lanes of I-44 just before I-270.

Officials shut down the far-right lane so the wreckage could be safely cleared from the roadway. No injuries have been reported as a result of the collision as of Wednesday afternoon.

The right lane has since been reopened.
