Cargo van rear-ends tractor on Missouri 53, one person injured

BUTLER COUNTY, MO – A cargo van rear-ended a tractor on northbound Missouri 53 injuring one person on Monday morning.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Richard T. Rushing, 28, was traveling north on Missouri 53 in a 2016 Ford Transit cargo van. He rear-ended a tractor driven by 61-year-old Ronald L. Sprous. The accident happened about one mile south of Qulin around 8:43 a.m.

Rushing was transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.

It is unknown if Sprous was wearing a seat belt.

The van was totaled and the tractor sustained minor damages.
