ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO — A 28-year-old Silex man died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle motorcycle collision on Interstate 64 westbound near Weldon Spring, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Trooper E. M. Reynoso responded to the accident in the westbound lanes of I-64 east of Missouri Route 94 at around 1:43 a.m.
The man was driving a 2016 BMW S-1000RR motorcycle westbound on the interstate when he failed to maintain a single lane, causing his vehicle to run off the roadway and strike the ground, ejecting the rider. Both the motorcycle and the rider struck the guardrail, with the rider coming to rest in the grassy median.
The Silex man was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:17 a.m. by EMS personnel.
The motorcycle was totaled and towed from the scene.
