Two teen girls injured in rear-end crash on I-55 near Mehlville

MEHLVILLE, MO – Two teenage girls were injured in a car accident near the Mehlville area on I-55 late last night, according to information from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on northbound I-55 near Butler Hill Road at 11:25 p.m., when the driver of a 2017 Chevrolet Impala, 32-year-old St. Louis man Joseph J. Kamper, crashed into the back of a 2013 Ford Fiesta being driven by a 17-year-old De Soto girl.

The impact sent the Fiesta off the right side of the highway and into a road sign and a fence.

The driver and her passenger, another 17-year-old girl from De Soto, were taken to Mercy Hospital South with minor injuries.

Kamper was not reported as injured.
