St. Charles man injured in chain-reaction crash on Discovery Bridge

ST. CHARLES, MO – One person was injured in a multi-vehicle crash yesterday in St. Charles, according to a crash report published by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 5:16 a.m. on the Discovery Bridge of westbound Highway 370.

A 2019 Toyota Highlander, driven by 29-year-old Delon A. Echols of St. Louis, was driving too fast for conditions and rear-ended a 2019 Ford Explorer with its emergency lights activated.

St. Charles man Dean W. Troutman, 53, then drove a 2010 Freightliner Columbia into the Toyota. The Ford, driven by 32-year-old Ty E. Clamors, also of St. Charles, struck a vacant 2019 Nissan Sentra before stopping beside a concrete barrier.

Clamors was sent to the hospital for the treatment of moderate injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

There are no other reported injuries from the crash.

The Ford and the Toyota were totaled in the accident, and the Freightliner received extensive damage.
