ST. LOUIS, MO – A firefighter died when a roof collapsed on him on the 5900 block of Cote Brilliante Thursday, according to KMOV.
Dispatchers received calls concerning a fire at a two-story brick building around noon. Firefighters arrived and extinguished the flames on the first story. As they made their way to the second story, the fire became too intense and they decided to get out of the structure.
The roof collapsed on two firefighters trying to exit the building. One of the firefighters was injured and the other died.
The cause of the fire and the collapse is under investigation.
