Pedestrian hit and killed by teen driver near Belle in Maries Co.

BELLE, MO (MARIES COUNTY) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a teenage driver in an early-morning crash on Highway 28 in Maries County this morning, according to information from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred about five miles south of Belle on Hwy 28, near County Road 415 and County Road 315 at 3:48 a.m., when the driver of a 2004 Chrysler 200, a 16-year-old boy from Vichy, collided with a pedestrian walking westbound in the highway.

The pedestrian, identified as 36-year-old Rolla man Anthony M. Border, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:42 a.m.

The teenage driver was not reported as injured.
