CAMDEN COUNTY, MO – A man is facing charges following a boating accident that killed one woman and injured four other people in the Lake of the Ozarks this morning, according to KY3.
The accident happened around midnight, according to Fox 2 Now, when a 1995 Sea Ray traveling downstream collided with a 2005 Formula traveling upstream, at about the 18-mile marker of the lake channel.
42-year-old Dawn Steinkuehler, of High Ridge, was killed in the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
An adult and a teenager were seriously injured and an additional two people were harmed in the crash. They have been taken to hospitals for treatment.
New Haven man John Bennett, 52, is facing multiple charges of boating while intoxicated and careless operation of a boating vessel. He is currently being held in the Camden County Jail.
