PEVELY, MO (JEFFERSON COUNTY) – A motorcyclist was killed after he was ejected from his bike during a crash, and was then run over by a semi-truck on I-55 on Friday night, according to information from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on southbound I-55 near the 181 mile marker at 7:35 p.m., when the front of a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze, being driven by 41-year-old Pevely man Timothy G. Hearst, hit the back of a 2014 Vance Cali Classic 50 motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, 54-year-old St. Louis man Dante R. Trice, was ejected from the bike. He was then struck by the driver of a 2019 Peterbilt semi-truck, 54-year-old House Springs man Christopher J. Nail.
Trice, who was wearing a helmet when the accident happened, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:50 p.m.
Hearst and Nail were not reported as injured in the crash.
