Driver hospitalized after crash in Franklin Co. caused by animal in roadway

FRANKLIN CO., MO – A motorist was injured early this morning when he crashed his car while attempting to avoid an animal in the roadway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the collision happened at 3:45 a.m. on Route HH/Slate Road at Emerson Road. A 30-year-old Robertsville man lost control of his 2009 Honda Accord while attempting to maneuver around an unspecified animal that was in the roadway. The Honda ran off the roadway and struck a bridge.

The man was subsequently hospitalized with minor injuries.
