A vehicle crash was reported in Annapolis late Wednesday afternoon.
At 4:03 p.m., authorities dispatched responders to Highway 49 after receiving reports of a crash that occurred about two and a half miles north of the city center. A 2007 Ford Focus was traveling south when it unexpectedly swerved off the roadway and crashed into an embankment. 42-year-old Michelle Herren sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Mercy South Medical Center. Other vehicles were not involved in the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
