3 dead following collision involving firetruck near Broadway Blvd and Westport Rd

KANSAS CITY, MO – A crash between a fire truck and an SUV near Broadway Blvd and Westport Rd left three people dead last week, Fox 4 reports.

Jennifer San Nicholas, 41, was driving the SUV when it collided with the fire truck. Nicholas and her passenger, Michael J. Elwood, 25, died in the crash.

A pedestrian, Tami N. Knight, 41, was also killed when the two vehicles crashed into a venue called The Riot Room. The impact caused a partial collapse of the building.

No firefighters were hurt in the incident.

The crash is under investigation by the Kansas City Police Department.
