Automobile accident fatalities higher than last three years in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO – Fatal vehicular accidents are higher than they have been over the last three years in St. Louis.

According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis police reported the 2020 accident statistics at 73 deaths, 22 of which were pedestrians. In comparison, 2019 numbers were at 56 deaths, including 14 pedestrians, 2018 numbers were at 49 deaths, including 17 pedestrians, and 2017 numbers were at 52 deaths, including 13 pedestrians.

This increase is also reflected statewide as well according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. They reported a total of 929 automobile crash deaths, including 103 pedestrians, in 2020. The automobile crash deaths number is higher than the last two years. However, in 2019 they reported 111 pedestrian deaths.
