Accident closes multiple lanes on I-55

ST. LOUIS, MO – Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were forced to close two lanes following a rush-hour crash on I-55 Monday morning.

According to the official Twitter page of the Missouri Department of Transportation, the accident occurred within the northbound lanes of I-55 near Loughborough Avenue at about 8:11 a.m.

Officials have not released any information regarding the cause of the crash or the identities of those involved. However, two lanes on I-55 were closed for about an hour causing significant delays for rush-hour commuters in South St. Louis.
