Accident causes delays near downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO – Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol closed down one lane after an accident on I-70 late Friday morning.

According to the official Twitter page of the Missouri Department of Transportation, the incident occurred shortly before noon in the westbound lanes of I-270 past Riverview Drive.

No injuries were reported as an immediate result of the crash. However, motorists faced delays as the far left lane was closed for some time while the wreckage was cleared from the roadway.
