86-year-old driver hurt in St. Charles County intersection collision

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO – An elderly Moscow Mills driver was injured in a collision at the intersection of US-61 and North Point Prairie Road on Sunday afternoon.

Lavern F. Becker, 86, was traveling east on North Point Prairie Road in a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse when he entered the path of a 2009 Nissan Altima headed south on US-61, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. The front of the Chevrolet hit the front of the Nissan around 4:10 p.m.

Becker was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis for moderate injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Police report both vehicles sustained extensive damages.
