61-year-old driver runs red light, crashes into Dodge RAM

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO – A 61-year-old Park Hills driver ran a red light and crashed into a 2009 Dodge RAM on southbound US-67 on Tuesday morning.

David D. Liberty was traveling south on US-67 in a 2003 Hyundai Sonata when he ran a red light at Highway CC, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. Bruce K. Maessen was turning left onto Highway CC from US-67. Liberty rear-ended the towed unit on the Dodge. The accident happened around 8:30 a.m.

Liberty was taken to Mercy Hospital South for serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Maessen was wearing a seat belt.

The Hyundai was totaled and the Dodge sustained minor damages.
