ST. LOUIS, MO – According to 5 On Your Side, five people were killed in a car crash north of West Florissant Avenue Saturday evening, including three children.
Two vehicles collided on Lucas and Hunt Road at around 5 p.m. on May 9.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the adult victims have been identified as Kristy Monroe, 22, of Mexico, MO, and Travon Nelson, 22, of Florissant, MO.
The names of the three children have not been released. They have been identified only as a one-year-old boy and a girl under the age of one, both from Mexico, and a 16-year-old from Florissant.
Nelson, who was driving a 2002 Toyota Rav4, traveled off the side of the road and into northbound traffic.
Nelson’s vehicle was rear-ended by a 2013 Nissan cargo van, causing the vehicle to overturn.
All 5 victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the 2013 Nissan, a 54-year old St. Louis man, was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital in critical condition.
