WASHINGTON COUNTY, MO – A 45-year-old driver fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed his 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in a ditch on Monday afternoon.
Larry D. Dontrich, of Mineral Point, was traveling northbound on Highway P when he fell asleep causing the Chevrolet to travel off right side of the road, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. The Chevrolet hit a ditch and overturned north of Harmon Road around 3:55 p.m.
Dontrich was transported to Washington County Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The Chevrolet was totaled.
