37-year-old passenger injured after vehicle hits tree

ST. CLAIR, MO – A 37-year-old male passenger was injured after a vehicle crashed into a tree on Mill Hill Road on Friday afternoon.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kristin M. Lenz, 40, was traveling eastbound on Mill Hill Road in a 2011 Kia Optima began to skid. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a traffic sign and tree around 2:08 p.m.

Matthew W. Lackey, of St. Clair, was transported to Mercy Washington Hospital for minor injuries. Both Lackey and Lenz were wearing their seat belts.

The Kia sustained moderate damages.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
